Job Description: The lead horticulturalist at the Solstice Cooperative will be asked to manage, operate, and maintain two nursery facilities directly and assist with the management of two additional facilities. Day to day responsibilities will include following a meticulous method of plant cultivation, creating nutrient mixes, feeding plants, transporting plants, transplanting at different stages of plant growth, developing and administering solutions for fungal & pest problems, maintaining a clean and sealed environment, recording daily efforts and reporting to the supervisor. Long term responsibilities will include the development of a horticulture protocol with the supervisor for future staff, the projection of plant development schedules, coordinating plant growth with another nursery and processing facilities, and the training & management of the horticultural staff.
Education: College degree in applicable field.

Additional Requirements

Compensation
The Solstice Collective places an extremely high value on acquiring quality people. The position of Lead Horticulturalist will be a salaried position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The Lead Horticulturalist will also be required to meet specific performance goals. The following compensation package will be available to the most qualified applicant:
- 32-36k base salary (dependent upon experience and/or education)
- On-site housing in 2 bed, 2 bath home with paid utilities
- 2 weeks paid vacation
- Monthly gas stipend for work related travel
- 3 month review with potential pay increase to 38k-42k
- 6 month review with potential pay increase to 44k-48k
