  • All students will be provided protective eyewear for the lampworking demo.

Bio of John Simpson-
I started blowing glass in Berkeley, CA. in 1997. I was taught the basics of lampworking and great work ethics from my teacher, Russ at Phat Glassworks. A year later I was on my own. Over the years I've learned, taught, and been inspired by many amazing glassblowers. My goal at Oaksterdam University is to pass on the tradition of glassblowing to as many students as possible. Whomsoever is willing, they will have the opportunity to learn ALL that I have in these past 13 years. The art of lampworking is evolving faster than ever before. I look forward to carrying on this ancient trade with you!!
